Exciting New Find!!!

Oh Em Gee!!!

I am in love with this site. It's called the Common Craft Show and gives simple and easy to understand (read: plain english) explanations to complex or confusing aspects in our world.

Here is one explaining how the process of electing a president takes place.

And another video explaining how to use one of my top 5 favorite sites, Twitter!

Custom Keds

When I was younger, four or so I suppose, my mom used to buy me stark white keds and let me decorate them with fabric pens.

They never turned out that great. There were a lot of crossed out pictures, pink power ranger faces and images of bells with an arrow pointing to it remarking "saved by" (which nobody seemed to realize was my little tribute to Saved by the Bell).

These days, Keds has teamed up with Zazzle.com, introducing the ability to make custom keds (similar to what Converse has done for years now) for women and kids.

After all, most shoes are made of canvas, why not paint it? Be it through fabric pens on a $15 pair of keds or a $60 custom design through the above link, just be sure to express yourself.

Good Find Weekend

I picked up a copy of ShopSmart;) magazine tonight and found some totally stellar sites to check out. I fraked all of the sweet sites so that they'll all pop up in one frame through this link.

But to check them out separately you can do so by following these links.

1154 Lill Bags - design your own purse (ideal for women looking for their own style or men looking for a gift for women that is from the heart and they will use everyday)
Taste Book - this is freaking brilliant for two reasons, one it's a custom cookbook so you can keep all of your favorite recipes in one place and two you can use your own pictures for the recipe pages you upload!
Dress By Design - this would be cool if I one, wore dresses or two, had enough money to have a dress made, but for those who fit into that category, you'll love this! (tip, organize dress and bag together by using Dress By Design and 1154 Lill Bags!)
Light Design - this is something I defo want to take advantage of at some time in my life (read: when I have more disposable income). This is the web's only design your own lighting shop. Pretty freaking sweet, check it out for yourself.
Simply Silhouettes - this reminds me of a broach my great grandmother used to have. All I can really remember is that it was a large silhouette of a woman. But that's reason enough for me to want something from this site to pass down in my family (perhaps of myself, my mother, her mother or even my great grandmother (if I can find a picture of her in profile). Basically you upload a picture of someone/something special to you and you can have it printed on various stationary and gifts.
Fine Stationary - Alright, so I'm a sucker for stationary.

And last but not least....

Tiny Prints - yet another stationary site but I felt this needed a shout out since it's sister site is my oh so favorite Wedding Paper Divas!

That is all. Again, if you click the one link above claiming the open all of these mentioned sites in one frame it will do so. Thanks to Fracked.com.

What a good find weekend!
I stumbled upon this gem from one of Clintus' old entries.

Hilarious.

Right, so I know there's a lot of hype over these "Twilight" books and I'll be the first to admit how annoyed I was by the recent explosion of popularity just because they're making the film, however, I will also be the first to admit that I succumbed to the book once my mom read it and told me how amazing it was. Needless to say....

I'm super excited for the film.

Did you know that 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 is one googol which is thought to inspire the name of search engine, Google, as being a wealth of information (similar to a wealth of zeros?).

I can dig it.
